San Simon – a town of Pampanga
San Simon – formerly known as Senior Del Pilar named after its found Mariano del Pilar. Through
the efforts of Governor General Simon de Anda y Salazar it was declared as town of Pampanga in
1771. Then was named was San Simon after the apostle St. Simon. It is divided into two parts one
is the Agricultural Zone and the other is the Industrial Zone. The Main industries of its people are
poulty, swine industries, farming and fishing. The town is known for its steel industry, wood
carvings, table making, tiles and “paso” or earthen jars. It is accessible via North Luzon
Expressway (NLEX). It is called as “The Emerging Business Haven of Central Luzon” due to the
existence of different industrial establishment in the area.
